Here are my workouts from last week:
Monday
5 mile trail run
Tuesday
Rest day
Wednesday
6:30 am CrossFit
13 min AMRAP
25 front squats 115/75
10 burpees
20 front squats 135/95
10 burpees
15 front squats 155/115
10 burpees
10 front squats 175/135
10 burpees
I did 65 lb for all the front squats even though we were supposed to increase our weights with each round of squats. Oops. I underestimated how much harder front squats are than back squats! I did one round and got a few reps into the second round before the 13 minutes was up.
Thursday
Row 5000 meters
Friday
6:30 am CrossFit
CrossFit open workout 15.1 & 15.1A!
I signed up for the open and am doing the scaled division since I am still only a month into CrossFit and can't do all the Rx weights. (Rx is their way of saying "doing the weight as it is prescribed in the workout". When you see "175/135", it means the men should do 175 lb and the women should do 135 lb)
Here are the workouts with the scaled modifications:
WORKOUT 15.1 (scaled)
Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 9 minutes of:
15 hanging knee raises
10 deadlifts (85 / 55 lb.)
5 snatches* (85 / 55 lb.)
*ground-to-overhead allowed
WORKOUT 15.1a (all divisions)
1-rep-max clean and jerk
6-minute time cap
The workouts should be done back to back, so really it was a 15 minute workout.
I finished with an overall score of 202: completed 117 reps in 15.1 (almost completed 4 rounds) and did 85 lb for my clean and jerk. This was my first time doing snatches in a workout so I was just pleased with the fact that I completed 3 rounds or 55 lb snatches. Those suckers are hard!
Overall the workout was fun and I felt really accomplished afterward. I'm glad I signed up for the open and I can't wait for 15.2!
